R.D. GROUNDNUT/ARACHIS OIL

The Groundnut or Peanut - Arachis hypogaea - are the edible seeds of a legume, high in protein, oil and fibre. Over fifty percent of the annual worldwide produce are crushed for their oil known as Groundnut or Arachis Oil.
Growing Location
Worldwide production of the peanut is in excess of thirty million metric tons per year. The globe's major producers of this
commodity are China, India and the United States along with Argentina. India, Vietnam and several African countries
periodically appear as a peanut producer dependant upon crop quality and global market demand.

Product Uses
The demand for peanuts as a snack food has remained steady in the face of other snacks such as potato based varieties. Peanut oil is widely used within the food industry for such products as peanut candy and peanut butter.
Peanut oil is widely used for flavouring compounds, confectionery, sauces and baked goods.
