
Glycine max (L) Merrill. known as Soya - or Soy in the United States - is a legume which has been grown for over three thousand years in Asia. More recently Soya has been successfully cultivated around the world. Soya is one of the few plants that provide a complete protein due to it containing all eight amino acids essential to human health.
Growing Location
In today's market the top producers of Soya are the United States, Brazil, Argentina, China and India. Multifry's Soya Oil products are sourced almost exclusively from the United States and South American countries.
Product Uses
Around eighty five percent of the world's annual soyabean production is processed into soyabean meal and oil.
Approximately ninety five percent of the oil produced is consumed as edible oil with the remainder being utilised for
industrial products such as fatty acids, soaps and biodiesel.
